Research Assistant/Associate
The Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London is seeking a Research Associate to join a project funded by EPSRC on the development of model-based frameworks for integrated process design, optimisation and control. The project involves in-depth model-based studies of separation units, with specific focus in biopharmaceutical processes. The project will explore how 3-fold sustainability (economic, social and environmental) can be embedded in the design of a process.

Research Assistant/Associate
The Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London is seeking a Research Associate in Process Systems Engineering. The position is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and in collaboration with GSK and you will carry out research at the intersection of process systems engineering and bioprocessing. You will develop advanced bioprocess models to enable the design of optimal, flexible biomanufacturing recipes and related process control strategies. Of particular interest are model-based approaches to design space characterization and optimization, derivation of surrogate models, integration with process analytical technologies, development of a digital twin and end-to-end process optimization.

The position is part of the wider collaboration with GSK towards the development of advanced modelling, optimization and control methodologies for biomanufacturing. You will work under the supervision of Dr Maria Papathanasiou and Prof Cleo Kontoravdi at the Sargent Centre for Process Systems Engineering.
